Older engines have different mechanical components that require specialized lubricants. The Motul range for historic vehicles was designed with respect to those features for vehicles from the 1990s and older, while utilizing new techniques that provides modern advantages in protection and performance. 

 2100 - Developed for naturally aspirated and turbocharged original engines built after 1970. Semi-Synthetic lubricant, formulated with modern technology detergent level.CLASSIC 2100 15W50 meets recent standards (API SH/ CF) and offers a better cold viscosity in order to reduce wear during engine start. Lubricant reinforced with a Synthetic base (oxidation stability) allowing stay-in-grade viscosity for a continuous engine oil pressure.

Eighties - For Modern Classic and Youngtimer vehicles from the 1980’s fitted with 4-stroke Gasoline or Diesel engines, naturally aspirated, supercharged or turbocharged, equipped with carburetor or fuel injection.

Nineties - For Modern Classic and Youngtimer vehicles from the 1990’s fitted with 4-stroke Gasoline or Diesel engines, naturally aspirated, supercharged or turbocharged, equipped with carburetor or fuel injection.This 10W-40 formula meets performance standards from the past (API SL) and combines them with MOTUL’s latest technology, developed in motorsports, to deliver a complete performance package for European, High-performance Asian and American modern classics. MOTUL CLASSIC EIGHTIES 10W-40 is formulated with a unique combination of High Zinc, Phosphorus (ZDDP content & 1800 ppm) and Molybdenum additives to provide the best protection and performance in naturally aspirated, supercharged, and turbocharged engines found in American, Asian (including boxer and rotary engines) or European vehicles from the 1980’s. High ZDDP levels offer supreme protection of critical components like high-lift, flat-tappet cams, prone to wear because of the high friction developed in these parts. Molybdenum has a synergistic effect with ZDDP, lowering friction while increasing the lubricating film’s strength, engine Efficiency and Power.
